It would have been nice if they say what letter each of the winning VA's are. Rolling Eyes

It does... click on their audition tape and it has which one they are. It was Battia D.

That doesn't work on my PC apparently. I get the voice but not who's. Anyway thanks for that as I voted for D too. Wink

I voted for Tetsuya D, but it was a flip of the coin between that and B then.

As idealistic and fan-satisfying as that would be, it would never happen for every anime series. Even when you ignore the bad companies that'll just dub however they feel, it would still make the process of choosing actors way too complicated and time-consuming. Look for this method of choosing VAs to be the exception, not the rule. (Though yes, it would rule.)

I'd rather have professionals who know things about performance decide who's qualified to act in an anime dub, thanks.

Fans are not always right about everything, believe it or not.

Well, I assume there was some pre-screaning involved. They probably picked four candidates that were all acceptable to them.

Otherwise, I have to agree with you.

Its a cool gimmick, and as long as they're pre-selecting candidates that can do the whole range of emotions that this character displays in the show, it's fine to allow fans to pick which voice they prefer.

But if they just randomly pick 4 adequate actors from their pool, and let fans cats the vote based on a short snippet... There's not enough there for the fans to pick wisely, regardless of how good they may or may not be at casting (and not being professionals, it's more "not be").

Also It's a great way of stifling any fans rantings that "the dub sucks". Wink
