Not surprised as it is the best selling light novel. I really want to see Index III, though I wouldn't be surprised if J.C. Staff butchered the content even more like the past two seasons similar to other recent works (Shana, Zero no Tsukaima, Bakuman, etc...)

With all due respect the only anime series that is on par of the butcher fest known as zero tsukima is Rosario vamp. Season 4 cut out entire characters central to the story arc, pretty much made half the stuff up even with the LN writer supposedly on board, and pretty much any season past one is almost like a spinoff.

Index had stuff cut out or shortened, but nothing on the level of Zero. I hope 3 comes out as well, in the mean time looking forward to the dvd release of Railgun next month.

Shakugan no Shana's cuts were pretty dreadful too. The transition between season 2 and 3 is painfully jarring. Characters end up appearing who we're supposed to know but don't and back stories are referenced that we're supposed to understand.

Shame they didn't use the S OVAs to cover Yuji first meeting the Snake of the Festival, Sale and Chiara's connection to Dantalion, who the heck Hyakki Yakou are and the back story of the Four Gods of the Earth. Oh look, that's ideas for 4 episodes right there and S was...four episodes long.

Yeah. It seems most of the reasons things were shortened or cut is to keep it in their 24 episode time frame- for index and railgun. Index less so.

Can someone give a good reason why to even watch this movie? its not connected to the story or anything. Not to mention the story of the series, which is so random and idiotic and never follow up on anything.

The producers know it thats why they dont continue it, so instead they make some random shitty movie?

So you don't understand Index. The Toaru series is far from "idiotic." And It doesn't have to be connected to enjoy a movie for this series. That's a good reason enough that its an Index movie.

What? that's an odd conclusion. Index does really well, that's likely why they made a movie. Simple.

Fair enough, but Rosario stopped following the manga halfway into season one for God's sake. And they took away the whole tsukene going ghoul mode.

In zero they cut out the fact that saito apparently has a brother, who is in fact the familiar of the elf girl, and he is the heart who must be sacrificed etc.

then again zero familiar sucks because he ends up with by far the worst possible choice in a show that had at least 5 or 6 possibilities. So really no need to give the ln a decent adaptation anyway.

As far as the index movie, ln author had a hand in it, so I assume it will be something that is considered canon.

Rosario and vampire can easily fix all that just by making a darker season 3 starting with the student council arc.

the 'original' timeline of the manga is really irrelevant.

People who watch naruto and one piece movies annoy me, Index should outsell them all!
