I figure at least some of you will appreciate this...went looking for Blue Uru content and got a small collection of images together. I'm pretty sure the full-color illustrations are attributable to Sadamoto Yoshiyuki & taken from this CD collection of images & other info that came out in 1998, as referenced in this article that year.

Those are great, GWOtaku!! I hadn't seen some of them before. I really like the costume design on the girl character, and look at that guitar the one guy has in the group shot; I hope some of that decadent, big-shoulders style comes through in the actual movie! Sadamoto is always great, but his sci-fi/fantasy stuff is the bestest!
I also wonder when these were drawn; they look more like FLCL and Diebuster than Nadia and early-Eva, which would be contemporary with when the movie was first in production. |
