Hint #1: spoiler[Magical girl A wants to protect her friend from the friend's crush, the pretender good guy B.]
Hint #2: spoiler[A's cat developed a mutual crush on A's best friend's dog, though the cat's side of the crush vanished when their true forms were revealed.] Hint #3: spoiler[There's a surprising lack of girl posses bullying A, considering her immediately attachment to the coolest girl in the middle school upon her transfer, perhaps because of (or despite) the coolest girl starting to act like a maniac after befriending A.] Hint #4: spoiler[While the expansion from a 5 volume manga into a 26 episode TV series involved quite a few changes and additions, it wasn't nearly as impressive as the 70+ episode TV series made from an 8 volume manga the same author wrote in the early 90s.] |

I never saw more than the first volume of this series, but I think this has to be spoiler[Nina (A) talking with Tetsushi (B) in Ultra Maniac, probably about Nina having found out that Tetsushi's "Prince Charming" shtick is all an act.]

Heh. I watched this just last night. Not sure if I remember the exact quote, though...
"I am *not* his girlfriend! We're just friends!" by Miu Fūrinji when Taichi Kōga asserts that they are. I think Kenichi says something like, "Wow. Sure sure was quick to say that." and Miu adds that she doesn't like being oogled (which Koga was doing). Sigh. If I was at home, I could look this up in a few minutes. Oh, and it's from Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple when Kenichi and Miu run into Koga the Jerkass Kicker for the first time. Also: I forget, are mini-game answers supposed to be spoilered? If so, my bad.

As a rule, I'm pretty sure all answers are supposed to be in spoiler tags.
Also, you are correct. I was hoping for more silly guesses though.
