The more I see of this film, the more and more it looks like a masterpiece. And it's amazing how far CG and motion capture technology have come in the past few decades; some parts of that trailer look almost realistic. Gotta really give props to Shinji Aramaki and the Toei Animation team for getting the eyes and hair physics down pat.
I'm also hoping that this film gets a dub, but preferably one without Sentai Filmworks' involvement; odds are, Steve Foster will likely be hired for dub direction and writing duties, and we all know how people tend to feel about his dubbing...
Though I will admit, the fact that a UK distributor has plans to dub this as opposed to a US distributor makes me hopeful, in this case. Yeah, I sound like a cynic, assholeish bastard, but I'm just hoping this film is great and gets a dub that it deserves so I can share it with my family without having to interrupt the film with stuff like "it sounded better in the Japanese dub, believe me!", which Foster's dubs have an unfortunate tendency to make me want/need to do.
EDIT: Of course, Foster has done some pretty good dubs in the past, notably in the Appleseed films (uneven casting aside). If he can really bring his A-game to Harlock, I'll let it slide.

They're a rock band, jackass, and the music fits fine. Get your head out from betwixt your buttcheeks.

This warms up the old SciFi fanboy blood in me nicely.
I think Toei may have something really good here indeed.

I never specified what type of boy band they were but no it does not fit the series at all have you even given a gander at Harlock on crackle? it is a space OPERA i mean harlock will make you more manly just by being near him i'm sorry i just feel that boy "ROCK" band does not fit. Also Harlock isn't something that needs rock anyway, its music is always fairly well placed. i prefer my ballads and operatic vocals over honestly IMo samey rock music i could take that music and put it towards ANY MOVIE............. still makes more sense then the red hot chili peppers in the live action death note movies...............

My thoughts exactly. Epic battles...space-wise and character-wise...seem to be nicely captured and enhanced from the series.
