Poor guy. He thinks he can sell a single, 22-minute episode for half of what other sellers on eBay are charging for the whole show.

Come on now, let's be fair. Volume 50 or Urusei Yatsura contains the last two episodes of the TV series (194 & 195) for a whole 50 minutes of anime.

Still real pricey though. Shocked

Looks like Amazon and/or the seller couldn't even get the runtime right.

I guess they wanted to make it seem uber-exclusive. I'm just glad I picked up my DVDs over 6 years ago. Anime smile

The runtime for volume 50 is right on the back of the case. You could see it even if it was still in shrink wrap. You have to wonder where the seller got his information.

The series is a space hog at four episodes per disk. Imagine what it would have been if they had issued it with one episode per disk.

I bought the first box set of five disks from Animeigo as part of the initial issue. People were already complaining about how much space the series would take. Every other disk case had room for a second DVD in case you wanted to reduce the foot print of the series. That only lasted for the first box set though. I bought the next five disks over a couple of years as cart toppers from Right Stuf. A few years back I broke down and bought the rest of the series from Animeigo. It was after they put them on sale and before they announced the end of the license. At that point Right Stuf still had Beautiful Dreamer in stock.

It must be a tough choice if you have to choose between buying a new Aston Martin V8 Vantage S or spending a little more for season one, Part 1 Blu-Ray of Bakuman:

And don't forget the $3.99 shipping!

Works out to a per minute runtime cost of $542.58....seems reasonable.... Laughing

That release was cancelled, so I don't know how that guy managed to snag a copy. I was really disappointed when Media Blasters did that. Mad

Edit: It seems the rest of what he is selling are the Japanese imports, so that's probably what he is listing here by mistake. Granted he's trying to sell all those for around $117,645.63 as well...

^^^^^
The other part that has my eyebrow raised is "Item has been used previously."
...we probably don't want to know.

While the prices listed on this B&N page seem, well, normal compared to the unreal prices listed above, I still feel compelled to call out what I consider to be absurd pricing.

And this is for a softcover. (interestingly enough, the hardcover is listed for ~$45)

The interesting thing is the used copy is the expensive one and they are both from the same seller. Also the description of the used copy is generic explaining what may be wrong with a used copy. At $600+ I would expect specifics. There is nothing to show why the used copy is more expensive in either ad (first edition, signed etc.)

I like the idea that it "may contain highlighting".
