With the Toonami Tumblr saying things like no one else would have the balls to air it, people would be surprised and it would stop people from thinking Toonami isn't "adventurous" I doubt it's Funi/Eva related.

That's the impression I got. Its most definitely a "show", not a preview of things to come, or an interview, or almost everything I see many suggesting. I'd be surprised if it was Eva related at all. Supposedly it will also "confuse, delight, anger, and disgust." Most likely a one-off short of some kind. |

Now I have little doubt that it's Highschool of the Dead: Drifters of the Dead given that show's intense content. I'd be surprised if it ISN'T at this point. EDIT: Alright, after WATCHING Drifters of the Dead, I can say that it's almost straight-porn. Toonami probably CAN'T show that, and since there's no action, wouldn't work on the block anyway... I hope this topic isn't about to turn into another argument about Shinji's emotional state. Let's just let that sleeping dog lie. The tumblr says they'll say what the surprise is at the start of the block, so we'll know in less than two hours. Also that the surprise will have action. And holidays are good for airing movies because viewership tends to dip during that time. They evidently have more movies planned, and they prefer movies from series. Just some things I picked up in the Q&A today. |

Meh. Too bad for you, then just watch and enjoy it subbed again then, it was good that way too. Plenty of us like her Asuka and Tiffany Grant's work on her both in these movies and the old TV series, plus like Spike's Shinji and Allison's Misato she too has improved even if you hate it anyway. |

raaaaaaaaage such a let down :/ was so hoping for something related to evangelion for the special event. buuuut with that said kick heart is pretty awesome so far lol so not a total let Down xD

Did they leave Rei at the end uncensored? Or did they blur out her nipple?
You know, the term "porn" has been so overused it's become practically meaningless. Anyways, the OVA was ultimately disappointing for something that was intended to be pure fanservice. There was nothing explicit at all, just lots of implied and relatively tame sexy situations, and it did not even have any nudity whatsoever!

i think the rei part in the last part of the movie is "fogged" out
i don't mind [as] liberally using "fogs" but as long as they feature a blu-ray commercial promoting EVA blurays by funimation
japanese terrestrial TV is liberally using fogs and black-outs these days to spark interests in bluray sales. |

i admit last nite was the first time i've seen Eva 222
i vowed to myself years ago that i won't watch Eva movies until they're all done so i can marathon it anyways... i can't believe spoiler[they killed off Asuka that quick] |
