If I was a creator of an anime and/or manga & someone uploaded my work without permission, my immediate reaction would be this....
"You know what? Do whatever you want with it! I don't give a damn! It's made for the fans anyway!"

Actually, from what I heard, these guys are outed by third parties. Someone rats them in. Or, they do something really stupid, and rat themselves out on BBSs.
