Theres still a few random loli cards that escaped censorship too. Some of their choices feel random.

That doesn't even make sense given there's still a ton of debatable inappropriate images in the game. They censored a mix of loli and non-loli images in a varying range of cover. The censorship doesn't have any valid means behind it. It was simply unnecessary.

I think they're hedging their bet that they could get away with less. They most likely don't expect to sell a lot of these, and they'd rather take their profits from a few hundred less and go home while they're ahead, than take their chances and possibly be in a fight just for an extra bit more profit. They're just a skeleton crew after all, so they can't be too greedy.

But all the censord ones are the lolis. And in the case of the fox girl she just dosent appear nude. Really, they all look young. I don't know what the thought processes was and how they decided which ones stay level 3, but its clear that it has to do with child stuff.

NSFW image.

I would say at the very least 3-4, verging moreso on 5-6 of those not being lolis. It's not clear that it has anything to do with children, because almost half of the ones censored are not children or close to it.

There's like two that aren't. Fia and whoever else and even that's pushing it. For her they just took out the nude version. They all look pretty young either way.

I wouldn't call girls with large breasts lolis.... There's quite a few there.

If they were only censoring loli characters, I wouldn't mind, but that's not the case. Rafflesia, Pegasus, Cockatrice, Tengu, Fia, and Phantom all look fine to me, and there are a few in there that are kind of iffy but not so sexualized that it should even be a big deal, like Vampire.

I was under the impresion that since this comes from Lolita it just meant sexually attractive young girl. Which if so they all fall under that. I thought the design is more about the face then the size of the boobs.

Right, but large breasts and developed bodies generally don't imply youth, they imply being an adult. The hips in particular on most of these characters are not that of a youth, they're that of an adult.

Healthy and ample bodies with young faces don't imply youth. Thats like half the reason people like young women. Because thier bodies are fresh and haven't actually aged. Their breasts which can be big or small are still firm.

Even with thier fully developed boobs and whatnot, none of these characters are drawn with the implication they are older women beyond say 21. Their faces all imply being very young. I don't think the breasts size does much, because well isn't that what people like. Young girls with big boobs?

Christ. It's like it's a crime to be straight in the video gamer industry nowadays.

First there's the conroversy with Dragon's Crown because it featured attractive women. Then Senran Kagura Burst's brief spotlight. Then Quiet from Metal Gear was criticized for having the audacity to be sexy. Then Bravely Default and Fire Emblem's censorship, now this.

Hahaha. Thats a good one.

You mean this industry that probably 95% caters to the straight (white) male.

This industry that 98% of the time regardless of what some people on the internet think, has no problem making it's female characters very male pleasing.

This industry where most of it's games are for men, by men, and has most of it's content from a straight male perspective.

Oh it's such a crime to be a straight male, because some people on the internet want to talk about how games can have a better representation of it's female characters where they just don't have to be TNA. Oh it's so terrible and you are so oppressed.

Quote:
Dragon's Crown because it featured attractive women.
Yes, it simply featured attractive woman. Thats it. That was people's problem.

Way to dumb down people's problems with it. It couldn't be that the Sorccerss was made with a gigantic emphasis on her what GG boobs. It couldn't be that they made specific animations to play up that, ones that could really only be done by a female.

No it was just because people didn't like that the character's were attractive.

"Oh but it also has pretty dudes so it's got stuff for the ladies".

Yes because they way they depict the dwarf and sorceress is so equal.

Get real. The game is great, the women are comically exaggerated and made in a super male fantasy kind of way. There is nothing wrong with that and there should be no reason to change Dragon's Crown because everything is exaggerated. But this is a terrible defense when it's so clear that the game is the perfect example of how women are displayed in games.

And there's nothing wrong with people taking issue with that and criticizing it.

Quote:
Then Quiet from Metal Gear was criticized for having the audacity to be sexy.
It was criticized because how sleazy and admittedly sexist it was. She's like that soley so they can sell the character through merchandise and what not. It's the definition of playing up a female's boobs to make money. There is no artistic reason. It is pretty shitty, because quite honestly she looks awful and dumb. Her outfit makes no sense for being a soldier and in the desert no less. Thats kind of the issue people have with video game women, no women in every media. They put them in roles like that only to play up thier breasts and nothing more. If Quiet was a male sniper he sure wouldn't be prancing around shirtless and in his boxers. Because if he was a male character he would be drawn handsomely, but also appropriate for what he is and to look tough. Kind of like another MGS character, I don't know Raiden. Where he is made pretty, but yet he dosen't look out of place completely for being a solider, and looks kind of cool. It's kind of the definition of sexists. But who knows, maybe she'll be like Eva where her sex appeal is all part of the character. We can only hope. Yet Eva sure didn't look stupid or have outfits made solely because she is a woman with boobs we have to show. Oh sure she shows her bra, but that's underneath her very appropriate outfit that she wears when she rides her bike. Also she just has a cleavage window and she's a feme fatale. It's hardly the same thing. Either way it dosen't matter. Quiets design is terrible and Kojima's words sure didn't help.

Quote:

I'm not sure what being a straight male has to do with fan service regarding questionably young characters.

Good lord, you are just as bad as Mdo at soapboxing. Yes, yes, we all know you don't like fanservices and pandering. Whatever sleazy shit this game got, it has audiences that's why the game's available. So quit playing moral police, just play the game you like. Last time I checked, hardly nobody is criticising Bioware or The Witcher series for pandering and putting the questionable content that was unnecessary in the first place. I mean you don't need goddamn sex scenes to convince the players of the intimacy between the npcs.

On the topic of MGS, he is the creator and he can do whatever the hell he wants. And Quiet's design being sleazy and sexist is your own subjective opinion. See like Eva's outfit, it's all about the context, this pseudo-journalism ignores all and jumps to conclusion. I know you like expressing how progressive you are but sometimes learn to restrain a little. This is why Shonen Jump Weekly gets bad names because they tend to shove their noses in every potential fanservice games and anime and comes out with vapid wall of text about why they hate it in the public forum, go get your own blog.

Thanks. MDo7 is good peeps. And good lord are you good at not understanding people's arguments.

Except, I never said that. In fact if anything I've said I like fanservice, but I'm not oblivious to it's connotations or peoples problems with it. Learn to read.

Quote:

Again, did you even read? I don't think I really even said anything against this game. I think the images a personally disgusting, but I also think they are being removed because of touching that child porn area. I also said nothing of the audience of this game.

Quote:
So quit playing moral police,
But no one is playing the moral police. Again can you read? Evidently not, because nothing in my posts were about morals.

Where are you in other threads when I bring this up that the issue is'nt sex in games because these games(and others) have sex in them. Because I never stated anything about sex in games being bad or why these things are censored. More so that they touch a more specific area. But thanks for agreeing with me!

Quote:

Oh I know, I played MGS4. But that dosen't make him immune to criticism. He puts out a commercial product made for people to consume and react to. People need to stop using this weak argument.

But please don't talk to me about MGS and Kojima. I'm quite sure I know enough about MGS.

Quote:

Ok....Do I need to add imo after everything so that you can follow along? Because it's pretty understand. But since you aren't offering an opinion on the contrary I'm going to assume you can't.

Quote:

Well you know if you read my post you;d understand that I acknowledged the context Eva and the difference there. But unlike Eva, Quiet is a sniper in the desert where it's rough and hot and she's wearing really crappy stockings.

Even this:
http://img.gawkerassets.com/img/19d40rr7qq0w3jpg/ku-xlarge.jpg

with it's short shorts makes more sense. Even with little context we know it already looks bad. There's already enough knowledge to raise an eyebrow.

But that isn't the problem really. It's because she's a woman character purposefully designed that way to sell her.

"OH but KOjima can do whatever he wants"

Ok, that dosen't make this less sleazy. It just makes Kojima seem pretty bad.

Quote:

I'm happy you think I'm progressive, but need I remind you that if you could read I did'nt really say anything about being progressive. I took issue with Gon Gon's lawl comments, but my post was nothing about how we need to change anything. It was more of an explanation of how silly the idea "that oh we straight men are oppressed". We aren't oppressed, we are being catered to.

I also passed no judgments about this game or the people who play it. I was talking about how these characters all look like lolis and why they were probably changed. Again if you could read you would know this.

And restraint? It's a message board. If I see people like Gon Gon say things I don't like I'm going to voice it. Get out of the kitchen.

Quote:

I don't even know what a Shonen Jump Weekly is and again in this thread I said nothing bad about this game. Please learn to read and argue.

And also know who you're talking about, because if you did you'd know I have nothing wrong with fanservice when it's not the only thing going on(and even then) and when it's not looking like little girls.

Quote:
nd comes out with vapid wall of text about why they hate it in the public forum
You don't really get to call me vapid when you can't actually argue people's posts and instead have to resort to character attacks.

And also can't read, because again I never said I hated this game.

Yes this time, I'm sorry. I was at fault not reading everything and name calling but your last response at Gon Gon seemed self-righteous and needlessly smug.

It seems you have problem against the game the fact you are incessantly derailing the thread every time there is fanservice involved. It's not the first time you are going on the tirade, I tend to skip some of the text from you. Even if you don't call yourself progressive, you appear to generally have problem with Japanese game company that's not Square-enix. Anyways, I acknowledge my lack of understanding here and this is my last response.
