Lol, really? Maybe because he's voiced by a female.

I forgot all about Nyotalia though. I like the designs for them so I might just have to check this out Very Happy

FUN FACT: Italy, America, and Japan all use the same actresses as their little boy counterparts. Meanwhile China and Latvia, who were already voiced by women, keep the same actress.

Ryan Reynolds played the lesbian Izumi in Hagure Yūsh and the fact that this is a genberbent version of a show noted BL-syle show, I think the decision to have her in this show makes sense.

Oh, so they are turning that certain chapter in the web or publish comic (I forgot which this chapter appears in) into an OVA. Well I knew they were going to have an Nyotalia skit somewhere in The Beautiful World, but I thought it was just going to be a skit ( I haven't really been watching the anime series for a while now). I'm excited for this. Also, I wasn't aware a female counterpart of Raivis (Latvia) existed in cannon now (definitely shows how long I been away from Hetalia). I kind of wonder how she is like.

I never understood how people mistook Wáng Yào as a woman. When I fist saw a picture of him I immediate knew he was man. I heard people point out that it's the fact he has long hair, and while long hair is typically worn by females in general, the rest of his physique, like his face, appears masculine. Besides males can have long hair too and in the case with Yào he might be wearing a style that is/was typically worn by men in China. Also he has no boobs. People have also pointed out it's his voice which while it does sound more feminine compare to the other adult male characters in the show it still sounded masculine enough. Yào just has a similar kind of voice range characters like Naruto, Luffy (from One Piece) and Krellin in the Japanes dub of Dragoball Z/Kai).

I don't know why Hidekazu (the creator of Hetalia) decided to make this spin off starring the female/male counterparts of the characters, but I just know that the OVA is base on it.
