I don't really see any similarity to Yamada's style and Kawajiri's style, other than gore. Are you sure you're not just making the connection, because of the similar titles? Jubei Yagyu isn't really limited to one author, you know.

The title is not Y+M but Y十M, abbreviation of Yagyu-Jyubei-Mituyoshi (柳生十兵衛三厳).

Yamada's novels were the loose inspiration for the Ninja Scroll movie and series, as opposed to a direct basis as they were for Basilisk, Shinobi, and The Yagyu Ninja Scrolls. The term that the Japanese use is "omaaju" (homage).

Unfortunately, the Latin character encodings don't include the 十 character. The policy for front-page news can be changed to allow Japanese characters, but there's already issues with people's browsers interpreting even non-ASCII Latin characters like ō.
