I hate being right about my pessimism because I want Funimation to make lots of money on this release, but they appear to have screwed up. If the design of the digibook is the reason for the scratched discs, I hope they learn their lesson and return to more traditional packaging.

I also want to let Funimation know that I wanted to spend money on the limited edition(s) of Attack on Titan, but the digibook design made me go for the regular editions instead.

And ANN, this news is a big deal; do not bury it in the daily briefs.

Huh, that sucks. Mine was perfectly fine, but I feel bad for those who had problems. Thankfully my luck prevailed once in my life this time.

In at least one case, the plastic in the digibook arrived shattered.

FUNimation should have just gone with their normal LE, or their new Premium sets. They could probably make up for all this by releasing a box with the second set. I hope they're reading the grumblings on the Fandom Post.

I'm a little surprised they didn't go with an artbox for this one.

Regardless, I'm sure they'll rectify the issue soon. I wonder if anybody's had any issues with the Collector's Edition...

I ordered mine from Amazon and for whatever reason it gives me a late June release date (or ship date, w/e). Guess that might be advantageous for me in light of this.

Well, I should add that this could be a result of poor handling (since the package was unharmed), and there is only one reported incident as far as I'm aware. All the same, digibooks can be pretty susceptible to damage.

I've watched 6 episodes so far on BD and have had no problems either.

Huh, I totally missed that the LE version had different packaging (I bought the regular version); I assumed it was the same all around. Glad to know I dodged a potential bullet there. Shame for all the other folks, though. Sad

Digipacks are fine and don't scratch up disks. There was probably just a problem during manufacturing; there's no way that a different kind of case would for some reason uniformly cause problems with a disk.

Also who really cares? It seems like half the people here are making way too big a deal out of this. Some disks had problems, and they're getting replacements. It's generally harmless and in a month everyone will have forgotten.

This btw, is one of the reasons why I use Rightstuf instead of Amazon.

Are there any reports of issues with the Collector's Edition?

This is why I usually wait a few months before buying any releases.
