I've checked on Twitter since this has been continuing and still only on ANN, and two others corroborate similar behaviour:

Okay, I've disabled the ad-network responsible for this.
Thank you for pointing it out. I apologize that I didn't see it earlier. |

Just recently, I think I found some ads that you can say invasive in all news Anime News Network posted. Please check this annoying ads.
If I drag the mouse pointer to that double underlined links without clicking it, it will show you a super annoying ad. |

I don't believe ANN runs those type of ads. Have you checked your browser extensions?

The double-underline type of ad provided by infolinks is always visible when I log out or use incognito mode of Google Chrome. |

Huh. I was sure ANN stopped running infolinks ages ago - I'd not seen one for ages anyway.

When I was typing a response, I get this pop up ad which kinda annoys me (pictured below):
Is there anything you guys can do about this?? |

Hmm, I'm surprised Infolinks is such a big problem.
Admittedly, they expand onmouseover but they're fairly small and disappear when the mouse is removed. I'll run an audience survey as soon as I can about this and adjust the ads if necessary. -t |

Got this one as one of the Tribal Fusion ads.
Region detect, I'm guessing, is the reason it's in Norwegian... well, Norwegian-grish. It's basically saying I have very little hard drive space left (which I don't), and should "repair errors in Windows to free more space" by downloading RegClean Pro. I don't think it could've set off my scam alarms any harder even if it added "we're not malware, we swear". Sorry I didn't want to take any chances with that ad by clicking it and seeing where it leads. I did report it, though, so here's hoping that has any effect. |

I'm a subscriber and have all ads shut off.
Yesterday I started getting ads in the sidebar just below the first article. It has continued today. The first was by tribal fusion the current ad is by gorilla nation and is noisy. |
