What was it again? Double its money back to be in the black? So once it opens wide in Japan this weekend, it might have a shot at that. Though I don't know if it'll be enough for Warner to still greenlight the Yukikaze movie like they did with Pacific Rim 2. Home vid sales will be the final factor in its overall total. But at least it's not a flop like it could've been.

That's the rule of thumb as the worldwide gross is how much all the ticket sales totaled, and not all of that goes back to the studios. Many theaters get 50% of the ticket sales. Then there's costs like marketing and film prints that aren't included in the production budget which are very rarely revealed.

Though it's incredibly hard to tell what makes a profit when Hollywood does shady things to make it hard to tell how much a movie really made/lost (On paper nearly everything "loses" money to screw over those wanting net profits).

PR2 is at Universal, not Warners.

This film may have some legs left. Just goes to show that making a critically approved adaptation doesn't prevent box office disappointment. Something to remember.

Still has that questionable decision spoiler[not to kill the protag] once they found out what they were looking for, just to raise the urgency, though in the end it didn't really matter.
