Damn, that sucks. Barakamon was one that I was looking forward to, too.

Funimation will most likely have Barakamon, that's why CR doesn't have US rights.

Funimation may has it. I don't think that's the reason. I think Mostly on CR's side. I don't see any problem when both website stream the same anime.

Wow, another oddball FUNimation pickup leaked by Crunchyroll. I'm kinda liking FUNimation's ballsy choices this season.

CR has demonstrated in the past they don't have a problem streaming a series another site has access to. For one thing, most Aniplex series they have are on available on both Hulu and Daisuki.

If they don't have a series Funimation has, it is because Funimation's contract with the publisher gives them exclusive rights.

Yup, like with Ping-Pong last season. I've actually been really impressed with Funimation's licensing choices lately. I was starting to think they were going to become focused on being the echii purveyors of anime, but I'm really enjoying their acquisitions from directors like Watanabe and Yuasa-sensei. I'm also looking forward to Barakamon obviously.

Not really. You can say most likely, but not always. Not many people do exclusive stream nowadays. Normally, it's the website's issue when they don't have the stream. CR doesn't do exclusive stream also, Funimation can probably pick up few other CR streams, they just chose not to do so because they want to save money.

CR can stream the same series as Funimation. IT happens before.
I wouldn't surprised that they change the region later to make it available for US. Sometimes, CR got a show late too.
IF this show available for US viewers after few eps, this will proves that Funimation has no exclusive rights. It's CR's issue.

Since it was only winter of this year that CR began getting rights for other countries when Funimation licensed a title, there is certainly no precedent for CR later expanding rights to also include the US.

I would be extremely surprised if they expanded the regions to include the US, as it happened with none of the "ex-US" titles last season, nor with the one from winter. Not even with Ping Pong for which CR at least was permitted to use English subtitles (unlike the others).
