I am VERY disappointed in myself for believing some random person form the internet without first checking it out myself. There was no way in hell Sunrise was going to start off with an anal rape. They'd save that for later.

I was at the screening. ^^ And everyone thought it was. It was made to look like so. Also, they never explained anything about this system throughout the 1 and a half episodes. Unless you read every single setting part about the setting into the spine, you never would have been able to see it as anything else. They NEVER explained this in the anime. Not once. Thanks for the review mewpudding! Your article was interesting to read too. The other otaku reactions were telling, I think.
And uh...it's kind of obvious that it's a fanservice show just by looking at the character designs, without knowing anything about the series before hand. There's wayyyy to many women in the main cast first of all. Second, their outfits and (after a quick google search) what I can only assume are pilot uniforms are exposing the groin and butt with something that looks like a panty. Any veteran anime watcher would know that it was either fanservice or harem based. I'm not saying that it won't be entertaining, I myself love certain fanservice shows as long as they are fun are the characters/story are well made. But I'm hoping they will tune it down a bit after the first few episodes. Frankly though, I don't think this show will be my cup of tea but I'll at least check out a few episodes before ignoring it completely. |
