Thanks Alan45
I have only two icons, but the one on the right does minimize and maximize the sidebar.
The other toggles the images in the sidebar on and off.
With the sidebar on the side the display looks normal for me.
The forum window and the sidebar, combined, are centered in the screen.

@Touma
The third icon I have is up/down arrows. As far as I can tell they don't do anything at all.

I just want to mention that I'm still getting the same problems as I was on Friday. I've noticed that it is actually making the forums wide enough to fit the widest post, up to the maximum width it would have before. Right now, if I change pages in a thread, one page might be wide and the next narrow if people didn't write as long posts on some pages. Before Friday, it would always be wide enough to fill the majority of the screen.

So the previous fix for the problem in Chrome cause some unintended side-effects. It was tricky to find a fix that would not have side-effects but I think now we should be good.
Bypassing browser bugs is not a fun business

OK, Dan42, looks like everything is now fixed. I don't see any unusual stretching on any part of the forum. Looks like you nail it there bud.
I guess it's case closed for this one.
