Really? Spring? Wow. That was fast. I hope for a proper 2 cour adaptation.

Well, that sooner than I expected it (Summer), but at the same time it kinda makes sense - the show is about the MC starting his teaching job in a Japanese high-school, Japan's schools begin their new academic year on April. Just like how shows that happen mostly in the summer or winter air in July or January, respectively (That, or I'm reading too much into it).

2 cour sounds like 1 or 2 too few for a wish for a proper adaptation, given the material to work with. Part 1 (146 chapters) is done, so they could adapt all of that if they want to (I have no idea when Part II starts)

Oh hooray another generic sounding anime adaptation by A-1 Pictures revolving otaku people doing otaku things marketed for otaku. Thrilling.

Oh wow. They actually made an anime of this. I knew of the commercial special they did but that was years ago. Good to know!

As someone who's read the manga (all the currently scanlated chapters), Kagami is the only full fledged hardcore otaku. Rather doing just otaku things, it's a lot more about Kagami being an eccentric teacher while fighting battles/participating in matches/playing games, helping/teaching students in unorthodox ways, always winning and succeeding with them. With the context that I have, I feel that the biggest target for disdain is how his successes/victories are achieved. Sure the author does an earnest job in trying to explain them, but it can't be helped to doubt these victories once in a while.

A-1 Shitures has actually been doing decently well with their adaptations, although production quality seems lower based on the voice acting and frame quality of the CMs compared to Shigatsu and SAO II. Let's hope that they don't go for a gecko/original ending with this one.

The announcement for this was only last week I think, so this is really fast. I hope they aren't rushing and properly make it.
