I need some help verifying some credits (see bottom) and opinions on what to do about additional splits.

Former animator and director Hiroshi Watanabe (わたなべひろし) person#257

He worked under his birth name (渡辺浩) until the mid 90s before switch to hiragana. I was able to split him off from the animator (渡辺 浩史) however, I've marked other animators with differing kanji as there might be more than one animator working under that name:

person#134754

渡辺ヒロシ
(2014) Mushishi: The Next Chapter (TV) : In-Between Animation (ep 4)

渡辺ひろし
(1989) (The) Venus Wars (movie) : Key Animation
(2010) House of Five Leaves (TV) : In-Between Animation
(2013) Unlimited Psychic Squad (TV) : 2nd Key Animation (ep 5)

渡邊浩
(2005) MÄR (TV) : Key Animation
(2009) Welcome to Irabu's Office (TV) : Key Animation (Studio Kyuma; ep 6)
(2010) Trigun: Badlands Rumble (movie) : 2nd Key Animation (Studio Kuma)

渡辺浩
(2009) Shin Mazinger Shōgeki! Z-Hen (TV) : In-Between Check
------------------
I need some help verifying the following credits (they are still on the director page)

(1986) Fist of the North Star (movie) : Key Animation
(1987) Crystal Triangle (OAV) : Key Animation
(1990) Nineteen 19 (OAV) : Executive producer
(1993) (The) Prince of Light - The Legend of Ramayana (movie) : Key Animation
(2013) (The) Wind Rises (movie) : Production Committee (NTV)
Rockman.EXE: Hikari to Yami no Program (movie) In-Between Check
Colorful (TV) In-Between Animation
Video Girl Ai (OAV) : Director, Executive producer

For the record, I don't have direct access to any of those titles that need confirmation.

Think I found 19Ninteen, There was no credit for an executive producer, but the other person credited with that role is listed right next to Mr. Watanabe. Both are credited with 製作, production. The three folks listed as producers are credited as such later (プロヂューサー)

渡邊 浩志 Mr. None of the Above

I also have Video Girl Ai and Crystal Triangle somewhere in my collection, so I can post those this evening. And I think Colorful was on Hulu with Japanese credits.

This would be an inevitably confusing case because

1. "Hiroshi Watanabe" is a very common name so it could be shared by several people.

2. 渡辺 and 渡邊 are not considered "different;" unless the person has specifically designated, those two are considered simplified and traditional forms, respectively; similar to "neighbor / neighbour" in English.

3. It is not uncommon to see the same anime/manga staff using either full kanji name, kanji family name with kana given name, or full kana name at different times and/or places.

4. The cause of points 2 and 3 can be either intentional or unintentional (i.e. typographical).

Same dude for the producer credit in Video Girl Ai (ep 1-2)

But the director credit was plain wrong (eps 1-6)

渡辺 浩 Crystal Triangle Key

Dormcat: But still, there are different people in these profiles, based on jobs. And it's still a good exercise to catalog the different spellings these people use.

Very helpful everyone! I'll mark accordingly!

@dormcat
If I'm interpreting correctly, then is there a decent likelihood that these credits are the same person? That would explain the overlap.

渡邊浩
(2005) MÄR (TV) : Key Animation
(2009) Welcome to Irabu's Office (TV) : Key Animation (Studio Kyuma; ep 6)
(2010) Trigun: Badlands Rumble (movie) : 2nd Key Animation (Studio Kuma)

渡辺浩
(2009) Shin Mazinger Shōgeki! Z-Hen (TV) : In-Between Check
------
Update: I was able to confirm that Studio Kuma (スタジオ九魔), where 渡邊浩 is credited as working also worked on Shin Mazinger Shōgeki! Z-Hen where 渡辺浩 is credited. So I'm in agreement that 渡邊浩 and 渡辺浩 are the same person, but may be a separate animator from 渡辺浩史.

It also looks like わたなべ ひろし briefly used 渡辺ひろし after cross-referencing his established work on Minky Momo and Slayers. He isn't using it any longer, however. The Venus Wars movie credit likely belongs to him because it coincides with that time period, however the newer credits on House of Five Leaves & Unlimited Psychic Squad do not.

渡辺浩史, 渡辺ひろし, and 渡辺ヒロシ all worked on projects that include Triple A but I can't say for sure if they are the same person or not.
