Hm, haven't heard of some of these folks. This should be interesting, at least.

It's kind of surreal to see a dub come out before the show has even finished, I'm used to watching the show, and then a few months later, sometimes more, a dub is announced and promptly released.

There was a short period around the end of the 00s and beginning of the 10s, where dubbing seemed to have taken a steep decline, probably due to piracy. But now things seem to be on the up and up.

Alex Organ was Togusa in Ghost in the Shell: Arise and a guy named Shogo in Psycho-Pass (coincidentally, Crispin Freeman played a guy with that name in Rurouni Kenshin).

Never heard of Decim's VA before, but the rest of the cast looks good (and I just realized the black haired lady isn't named yet). The clip sounds solid as well, although I would've preferred Decim to have a deeper voice.

Glad that Alex Organ is casted in this. Loved him when he voiced Shogo Makashima. Smile

Its not just that more & more people have been wanting more subbed anime. And to be honest I like how they added not very many well-known VAs.

Looking at the Relationship section of "Bonny Elizabeth Clinkenbeard" on Facebook, I found that Colleen is Bonny's older sister.

Meh, wasn't a fan of Alex Organ as Shogo Makishima. He sounds a tad bland but that might work for his role here. Rest of the cast looks good though.

Well, the dubbed version may come out a while after the Japanese version, they might be recording it while the sub is airing.

Wonder if the point of casting Newbies for the simulcast dubs is for Funimation to get back at people who complain that they only use the same VAs. I like Alex as Decim but I need to hear more from the other characters.

It's kind of a Catch 22 situation. People want experienced, recognizable VAs, but they also don't want to hear the same ones over and over again. But if you don't give new ones a shot, they can't get the experience they need to become well-respected veterans. Of course, this limits the talent pool.

It's sort of a case of, "Yeah, well as long as the anime I like the most isn't the test bed." But the argument can be made that VAs should start in minor roles, establishing themselves before they take leading ones.

So did no one notice the accidental pun in Alex Organ as Decim?

...I'll leave now.
