does anyone else think that the anime insults the manga?

The episode had some pretty awful stalling as it repeated scenes and had it move at a fairly slow rate.

Interesting revelations this time.
Even Natsu's flames weren't a match to that ice.. Sylph Labyrinth guild guys were pretty confident. If it only were that easy.. That whole place wasn't iced over for no reason. Erza was onto something good. Guess we'll see more next time. |

Episode 229, (2014 episode 54)
Well it is not every day that you see spoiler[child Erza]. Not incredibly relevant, but seeing a spoiler[young sword wielder holding a sword that would normally be one handed in both hands] makes me think of a game I have been playing a lot of, Hyrule Wariors, which included the also absolutely adorable Young Link. I want to see fan art! |

That looked like fun time ^^ She was totallyspoiler[ obsessed with getting back to normal.] Natsu & others had their own problems with those treasure hunters. Damn it spoiler[Happy]... The action is getting more intense. |

It takes about 28 episodes of the new series plus about 24 episodes on the original set. Yeah, that far too long; worse than darg-on ball z in some respects, but I still like Fairy Tail. I just starting on the 2014-15 episodes, took a while to get through all 15 sets of the English series discs thru episode 175. Now I have to watch it in japanese  I hope funi get's their asses in gear and starts putting out the later episodes, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Welp, spoiler[Flare in action this week. I actually found her kinda cute although also felt bad for her past in a way. Good thing she is able to redeem herself though and I think Lucy considers her a friend now.] And poor spoiler[Erza and Gray. That ability to turn them into a kid is really taking a toll on them physically and mentally huh?] |

Almost everyone turned into a kid.
That hindered them severely. Lucy used her spirits to mend the situation. At least they managed to get that girl on their side. It was an interesting story that she told. |

I am not too happy with the episode, it was almost 5 minutes before we got to the actual episode, and after a little bit we had another scene from last episode repeated over. I am getting the really bad feeling that they are totally stalling with not much substance.
Unless they plan on doing it later, I thought they opened themselves up nicely to maybe go in depth about Flare. Show us a little more spoiler[about her life there, her life just after leaving, what she learned in Raven Tail, how exactly she left, and how she got to this village this time]. It did not have to be that extensive, and really should not have been that hard to really fill in blanks to make the episode more interesting than what was mostly barely anything happening. |

Well that was amusing. About time they spoiler[beat that demon and get their normal forms back. And also, Erza made Minerva looked like a fool there for a moment this episode  . Most priceless moment I've seen awhile from this season.]
Same thing for this week. |

It was hard to not notice the long recap.
Hopefully it won't turn into a habit for them. spoiler[Gray] was even better than ever! Being in kid form didn't bother him one bit. Others, on the other hand, spoiler[were glad to be back in their true form.] Looks like spoiler[Flare is gonna tag along for a while].. Natsu & Gray seem more mature in this arc. Wonder if it's gonna last.. |

Not sure if I mentioned this before, but damn, I am loving Lucy's new short shorts and midriff baring purple top ensemble. It really shows off her big boobs well.
... Well, there's a sentence you never really expect to write with respect to a show that seems like it should be for kids. |

Indeed, it is getting a bit ridiculous. They have improved with some things in this arc, but they are failing pretty big time in terms of these recaps and in general filling up time in these episodes. It can't just be my imagination that this is becoming very little per episode with what I would describe as problems with flow. I was actually kind of happy that I had realised that there was some sort of continuity errors with spoiler[the ice being broken before, but the guy for some reason got hurt from it]. If he spoiler[turned into a demon like Gray was saying], I wonder if it is something like spoiler[demon slayer magic, kind of like how we have dragon slayer magic and god slayer magic already]. |
