I seriously don't care what anyone says or complains about--the movie version of Attack on Titan looks like it'll be kick-ass awesome in its own right. I sincerely hope someone licenses this so I don't have to import a future raw blu-ray.

The special effects and even some of the acting leave much to be desired. Some of the sequences look real good and others just look.. awful.
I don't know why live action Japanese films have such a hard time with making good special effects. You'd think they'd be awesome but, why are the special effects in most Japanese movies so bad most of the time? You'd think they'd be really great by now, or even on the outset beyond what american movies are but they're not even close.

Attack on Titan being unadaptable in terms of live-action mixed with the mediocricy of Japanese films makes this an imminent failure.
EDIT: Perhaps that was a bit harsh, I don't think Japanese movies are necessarily "mediocre" but when attempting to re-create something of this caliber... yeah, nothing good can come from that. Of course, anything that supports this series in any way will have my favor, and I can't hate it or have any kind of bias. I don't think I will be watching it though. I was hoping I wasn't the only one who thought that. It looked incredibly silly and it made me chuckle.  So parts look good and other look weak. I don't like how they Mikasa basically only saying Eren in these trailers though.

I wondered the same thing but I believe it comes down to that the Japanese don't have the kind of money Hollywood does for movies :/ |
