I remember reading articles that back in the day the only reason if you were Japanese and owned an XBOX 360 was to play Idolmaster.

Knowing other otaku-centric games on home consoles it'll have PS2/PS3 level graphics so there won't even be much of a point. Though I'm sure this will sell some more PS4s in Japan.

I hope there's a lot of information on the PS4 Idolm@ster at TGS as this will save me from selling my PS4 (as I already have a high end BD player not to mention a BD drive on my PC). Bring me some Million Live girls and I'll buy the game day 1.

So... to make a long story short, I'm getting a PS4.

Really hoping they do another TV series to promote this featuring the regular cast rather than the Cinderella Girls cast (I do like Cinderella Girls but the regular im@s cast is top notch)

No, iDOLM@STER games have very high budgets. Very big budget series. It's nothing like what Compile Heart shits out.

Certainly possible, but I could also see it possibly making some graphical enhancements too since it's such a seller. Yeah, that's the most important bit, it's gonna be a system seller.

I think one of the biggest surprises last gen was Gust, they actually did a really good job of that over the course of the PS3 generation, it was pretty cool watching the leaps their games made.
