Wait, Studio Madhouse animated Lilo and Stitch? Wow TIL, I knew they did the second season of The Boondocks but I thought that was their only US project.

It's not Lilo and Stitch, it's just Stitch. They were going to leave the planet, but crash landed in Japan and met a different little girl.

I didn't even know this show existed. That's interesting.

All three seasons received an English dub.

Also, they explain clearly in the series that it's ten years later, and Stitch was leaving because Lilo is grown up and going to college. (It has been ten years, you know.)
Lilo does cameo in one of the anime episodes, and yes, does look like that one episode where she tried turning herself into a teenager.

Why are they still trying to turn Stitch into an anime? That hasn't worked at all since none of their previous attempts were any good.

Well clearly it worked on some level considering the anime got three seasons and I recall it was occasionally in the top 10 ratings.

Wow, really? I don't know whether to shake my head or laugh at that.

The likely reason is because they just see Stitch as "kawaii", like one of their goofy advertising mascots over there.

This is a surprise. I didn't think there was any life left in the Lilo & Stitch franchise.
