And Toei is like "No, but you can have a dub we made of World Trigger! You want that right?

....Right?"

Anyway, glad to hear it's doing well.

For limited release standards, that's pretty good. It shows that even today where anime is more niche, there's still a market this franchise in the US.

I was honestly surprised how many people were in my theater. Everyone was packed in like sardines, so I'm not surprised it did decently in the box office for as limited a run as it has/had.

Seen this on opening day. I'm glad it performed well as I really enjoyed it. The theater was pretty much packed too. I will gladly pick this up on Blu Ray. Now please bring DB Super out.

This makes the film eighth highest anime film opening of all time in the United States

How many of those are Ghilbi films I imagine?

Either way, this is the very first anime movie other than Pokemon or Ghilbi films to be shown in ACTUAL THEATERS in my country!

I still can't believe it! *tears*

The screenings on opening day was sold out for the past 2 weeks. I decided to buy a ticket for next Tuesday since movies are $6 at my local theater on that day instead of paying full admission price for the rest if the week.

Wow this is great I knew it was going to do well with how packed the theater that I went to was here in Ohio. Hopefully Funimation shows a lot more Anime movies in theaters where I live in the future with English dubs. Very Happy

Just got back from this about an hour ago. I too was surprised at how big it was. I can't confirm for sure, but it sure seemed like it sold out. It seemed like there were a few late comers who couldn't find a seat. It was at least as packed as when I went to see Age of Ultron or Jurassic World, and those two were on opening night. Hell, I went to see MI: Rogue Nation on opening night and that was only half full when compared to DBZ.

Blargh, I guess I shoulda decided to go to this then tonight in the East Village with a bunch of online acquaintances who said that they wanted to go and make a goonmeet out of it. Though I guess DBZ just isn't my cup of tea anymore, it sounded like a good time...
