it sounded...alright

It think Toei should stick to letting other companies localize though.

That's an interesting dub. Reminds me of the early 2000's. I do think the actors need a bit more direction, sounded a tad flat, but otherwise the voices aren't bad, and I haven't heard that announcer in a long time.

So, is Toei looking to attempt its own localization like Aniplex and PonyCan, or is this just an effort to get eyes on the steaming episodes? I'm rather curious what the point of commissioning their own dub for a few episodes was.

The dubbing reminds me of Mega Man 8 on ps1. Take that as you will.

Oh hey, Blue Water Studios. I guess they've upgraded from the studio Bandai used when they were too cheap to get Ocean Productions to the studio Japanese companies use when they're too cheap to get Bang Zoom.

Was thinking the same, I don't think I've heard him since Gundam 00 and in a few eps of Inuyasha Final Act when it was recently on Toonami.

Liked the way it sounded, more dubs the better! Though since it's unlicensed wonder what the end result will be. Hopefully they continue to dub it and it gets a dvd/bluray release.

The impression I got was that Toei were attempting to interest buyers, because to my knowledge it hasn't sold anywhere internationally. This was a drive to rally fans and show off the series potential. Must be making money somewhere though, because it's been given a spin-off.

I don't think it's a bad show, but people seem unable to get over the fact the animation is Rick and Morty-level and the pacing is perhaps a little too slow for most people's liking.

In one episode there was genuinely almost a minute long montage of people silently glaring at each other, it was hilarious, because it had clearly been done to cut the amount of animation required for the episode... Laughing

At least they aren't using the Animax or Odex dubbing crew since those are often negatively viewed and cheaply done.

So what can Blue Water be considered? A half-step up?

That was... okay I guess.

Still, been a while since I last heard a Canadian English dub.
