How many volumes will that be in total? If 14 just came out in February in Japan, that's, what, 16 or 17, given the usual lag between chapters and publishing? US release isn't too far behind, then.

Yeah that sounds about right. I'm sad to hear it's ending, but it seems to have been staying focused and not drifting off into filler, so I'm thankful for that. I'd rather the author end it when he's finished with the story he wants to tell, rather than keep a series going just for it's own sake. I wonder if we'll see a final anime season, I'd love it if they could finish that too.

What? Why? I don't think they finished the 100 sights.

Well, perhaps the success of Sidonia is allowing the author to finance other ideas he has had brewing. I was surprised he'd stick to one sci-fi concept for so long, honestly. I think we all benefit.

Checking Wikipedia, and assuming it's up-to-date, volume 14 has through chapter 69. Chapters through 76 have been printed. Given that most volumes have been 5 chapters (1 with only 4), and 1-2 possible more chapters, that would be 16 volumes (70-73/74 in 15, and 74/75-77/78 in 16).
US release of 14 is, ironically, 4 days after the final chapter. There's no solicitation past 14 yet (since they don't exist in Japan, either), but given the spacing of the US releases, there's a good chance that we could be reading the final volume about this time next year (assuming the Japanese volumes come out in a timely manner).

You might be right unfortunately. Damn I wish it didn't take so long to translate and publish them.

Ah, interesting. Hopefully a season 3 is announced, just because I'd like to see the ending animated. I've yet to watch season 2, so I gotta catch up.
If no season 3 appears likely come 2016, I'll probably end up jumping onto the manga. Well, unless something happens and I really don't enjoy the 2nd season of the anime.

An interesting thing on the dub is the lead 2 characters are the dubbed Renton & Eureka from Eureka 7.

They say the good series are the ones that leave you wanting more.
