Original post on AoD with link to Japanese site.

Interesting. Since there is no way in hell the games will ever be released here, maybe someone will at least pick up these novels.

I've always thought that releasing visual novels as actual novels would be a logical way to milk a franchise and reach people who didn't feel like (or weren't able to) playing the games for whatever reason. But this is the first time I've heard of it actually happening.

I'm not sure. I don't recall hearing about anything like that at the moment, but its possible they did and I either didn't know about it or have forgotten about it.

Ohhh-kay, "real" novel! I was wondering what the hell was this thread about, because I think there's already three light novels out there. I can't tell you how much I hope somebody translate those books (all of them) in the English language.

Urobuchi Gen, who is a scriptwriter for Nitro+, writes the novel Fate/Zero, which is a collaboration project between TYPE-MOON and Nitro+ and is a prequel to the visual novel Fate/stay night.

I like this idea, I really do. As Hitokiri said, it makes the franchise more available to people who don't play VNs. Hopefully it'll be mostly a port of the game text, as that seemed pretty well written.
