The first release could be considered an Anime Classics release that wasn't labeled that way, given that it's a license rescue of an older show. I am tempted by that Blu-Ray SAVE collection to supplement my old Geneon DVDs, even if it means an getting an extra BD copy of the movie.

And just a random observation -- as far as I can tell, Funimation is the only long-time licensee that has never had one of their initial licenses pass to another company.

Now for the bad news. Just in case you haven't heard yet, the Tokyo Ghoul CE boxed set has been canceled/postponed due to a production problem with the set. Funi actually did ship these sets to retail, but fortunately we got the word in time that they were being canceled/recalled before we shipped out any to you guys. We will leave all pre-orders for the set active, however, it has been removed from the September release schedule and a re-release date is TBD. We are not going to accept anymore pre-orders for the set until Funi sets a new date. If you would like to switch your pre-order from the CE to one of the other two Tokyo Ghoul sets, just drop us a line and we'll see to it...

We are upgrading all three releases of Free! -Eternal Summer- to include the OVA, a fourteenth episode of the series that was not broadcast on Japanese television or on simulcast! This will affect the Premium Edition, Limited Edition, and Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack. All three will now be available February 16, 2016 (but pre-order now)!

We’ve been working hand-in-hand with our licensing partners in Japan to be able to make this change for you, and through collaborating together, we are now able to put the series and OVA together. This is a new opportunity that hasn’t been available before, so we’re excited to be bringing all of Free! -Eternal Summer- to fans in one single package.

What does this mean for you? If you’ve pre-ordered the series already, no sweat—your order will remain the same, but your home video release will now include the extra content.
