Congrats Tow! Now that the charges have been dropped and if you really didn't hit her...you know what to do. Wink

Just because charges were dropped, that doesn't mean he didn't do it.

Especially considering it was the wife that decided not to press charges. That's textbook abusive marriage dynamics right there. I'm not saying it's certain he did it, but I would be more convinced of his innocence if an investigation had proved it or something, rather than not proceeding because the wife drops the charges

Reminds me of Donald Trump's wife.

@ Lili-Hime,

And thus, we will most likely never know what happened... Well, that's the end of that.

[Edit]: ditto with the over-quoting. Errinundra.

God, that's extremely suspicious. I have a feeling we haven't seen the end of this.

I think Mrs. Ubukata's refusal to press charges on Mr. Ubukata came out of sheer hesitation rather than of her own free will.

I wonder how common domestic violence cases are in Japan?

Or maybe that... If we see this happen a second time, I think we'll have our definite answer.

How would her tooth break if he didn't hit her.

Ugh, I can really see a lot of antagonism towards this guy.
You do know that there might be the tiniest case of paranoia on the woman's side, not that I want to press for it though.

Hope they will get into reconciliation, It's always such a bad thing for married people to separate this way.

What could you possibly mean when you say she's paranoic? Are you implying she imagined her tooth being broken? Or that she punched herself in the face during a delirious break and imagined it had been Ubukata?

Wouldn't the police have to imagine her tooth being broken, too? I'm sure she showed them at the time.

Speaking from personal experience, I find it highly unlikely the cause of her tooth breaking was the result of being punched in the face, some sort of object would have needed to be used.

I don't know... After going as far as filing a complaint to the authorities and presenting her side of the story, she decided not to continue with the proceedings? Confused
