I've read couple chapters of Thunderbolt, but i never found it compelling.

I thought they do Blue Destiny, but i guess there isn't enough material published for that.

Its interesting thou, that Sunrise is turning to Manga sources instead of new works now try keep public interest.

I would have loved to see Crossbones, but i get impression it maybe part of canon that may be not as serious as other parts. Gundams flying around in caped pirates maybe little much for some people now given mix results some series have been produced.

Can't wait to learn more about this! Wonder if another OVA series or if this will be an episodic gundam. Either way, I am excited but skeptical - gundam has been up and down over the last years.

I just checked out some of the mech designs for this manga and there a little to crazy to be in the one year war. I wander if there going to try to pass this off as canon or not?

The mecha designs are pretty crazy, especially the Zaku. If this is about ace pilots, then expect some combat porn?

Very interesting, don't really know anything about this one.

Opinions. While I love the UC, I also love the AU series and personally find a lot of them well worth the watch. G, Wing, X, 00, Iron-Blooded Orphans, all great series(The latter one is great thus far.).

This.

This is called scrapping the bottom of the barrel.
Poor Sunrise, they've must have run out of ideas.

Personally I found Turn A to be rather dull. It wasn't really interesting and certainly wasn't what I had come to expect from a Gundam series. Usually that's not a bad thing, but in this case I hardly recognized that it was a Gundam series.

Turn A was a breath of fresh air personally. It definitely did a better job developing its cast than other Gundams attempted to do around the same time and even long after.

The really goofy stuff in Crossbone is in its sequels, the original is only about as out there as any of Tomino's more recent Gundam TV series. It wouldn't be the first animated Gundam with capes or pirates at this point.

^ And its not like pirates are only in children's fairytales and Disney movies. They were real and they still are.

All the best to Thunderbolt; they must've sold a lot of model kits to justify it being greenlit. There's only one OYW story that I have any interest in seeing animated and that's what happens in the first month.

Thunderbolt is a bit different from most serious Gundam offerings but similar suspense tales as The Gihren Assassination Plot (based on the Staufenberg plot) exist. There is a lot of action but the story isn´t about ace pilots but a psychological narrative about an "experimental unit" who are war victims and get a second chance to fight back. The protagonist is an amputee and the story is about PTSD, human experiments and so on. I can hear the complaining already...
Expect a staggering death count due to the high a mount of grunt characters + gore (unless they pussy out) and the conflict is explored from both sides with none coming off as the "good" guys.
Jack Bauer and Venom Snake (shudder) though also went from one torture session or war crime to the next while being the clear good guys so who nows? Imagine a better version of MS IGLOO (6/10) or a darker companion to Stardust Memory (9/10) and you are set. The franchise needs to move on from the One Year War though as the amount of tales in that timeframe is about to reach SW The Clone Wars EU proportions...
Another (post OYW) manga i would like to get an adapted is Johnny Ridden (8,5/10) and the spin-offs. The original novel trilogy (9/10) could also use at least a manga adaptation even if it doesn´t concern the UC canon. The books were the novel version of Starship Troopers with an adult Amuro as the lead and thus my favorite Gundam story after Zeta (Define).

First Iron Blood Orphans cleanses the palette after that abysmal Reconguista series, and now a new UC series? Sign me up!

This could be an anime series, just look at recently aired Gundam TV series, G-Reco and Build Fighters Try both air at the same time.

I'm hoping for a monthly high-budget OVA release over a TV series. But they don't need to go so overboard that we wait half a year between episodes like for Unicorn or Origin.
