Unfortunately she won't get better, her condition is a chronic form of Idiopathic Eosinophilia (Hypereosinophilic syndrome). She has been hospitalised on and off since her diagnosis in 2012. However, this is the longest she has been unwell in 3 years. Normally she tweets about her spells in hospital or her sentiments upon discharge but she has been MIA since September and all her contributions to the series CD and home video releases have ceased (in addition to this hiatus). I really hope she's able to return to a stable condition soon. 
Edit: Forgot to add she tweeted earlier today basically be patient, she's going to do her best. I'm sure she'll get there, she's a trooper.

I just decided to drop it anyway and immediately gave up on the gore-porny spin-off so this just sweetens the deal. I was dragging it along for about 3 volumes so i better quit ahead before it completely killed itself. Nothing against her refined art or poor health state but writing isn´t quite her game and she should´t have juggled 3 manga projects @ the same time.
(Manglobe´s bankruptcy is unfortunate but hardly unexpected.)

To be fair, DOODLE started just before her diagnosis - there was no way of knowing that her health would take such a dramatic downturn almost immediately after it began. As soon as her health failed it was put on the backburner, understandably. CURSED. she's only writing with Kamo Syuhei on art so it takes up the least amount of her time, by her own admission, of all projects. Her particular condition can take a bad turn at the drop of a hat even with the high level of supervision she's under, it's not really a matter of taking on too much work.

Actually the article's wrong and Viz is pretty much caught up -- the sixth volume came out over the summer, so we're just waiting for the seventh.

Gangsta is a good story and why would you say that writing isn't her thing?? It's fine by everyone standards to sell so it's not bad. And she wasn't doing 3 at one time. DOODLE was before her health tanked so she stopped that manga. Her main project is Gangsta right now.
