Whoa this is surprising, I wasn't expecting this.
But still, I'm glad to see CR expand their marketing.

They grabbed the disk rights to Fullmetal Alchemist too, it looks like! And finally, I can get a blu ray of Free season 1!! Hooray!
I wonder who they are partnering with to make the dubs?

Since they are California-based, they might use the LA voice pool. Heck, CR may even decide to dub it in-house. This is definitely something many CR fans have been wanting for years. However, as I am more of a streaming person, I hope they can also put these dubs on CR.

This pretty much just changed everything. Crunchyroll has suddenly become the number two, if not the number one, physical anime licensor in one blow. This also effectively cuts off Sentai Filmworks from 75% of its anime pool.

@Blankslate I bet Funimation is pissed too and I wonder what CR did to pull the rug out from under Funi with Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood being on their service now.

In all my years of being an anime fan I have never cared about crunchy in the slightest. I don't stream and have no real interest in subs. I'm a physical bluray/dvd collector and don't watch anything until I buy it. When it was announced ealier that crunchy was getting exclusive partnerships to anime and taking home video rights I wasnt happy because crunchy had shown no real intent on releasing them on video nor dubbing stuff but wirh this announcement I've never been happier to admit that I'm beyond excited and happy. I'll buy each and every one of those blurays when they release and I'm very glad crunchy is investing in dubs and most importantly the home video market. I just hope this doesn't negatively impact sentai too badly as this can't be a possite for them and I love sentai =/
I doubt it but maybe crunchyroll and sentai have partnered up for this?

Pretty sure they just picked up the streaming rights, not the bd/dvd rights?

I think Crunchy just burned a boatload of bridges with this move period. I honestly find it too funny, considering what they started out as.

Agreed. If crunchyroll starts doing this consistently especially I could see them overall passing funimation. Id still give funimation the edge, but crunchyrolls right there, plus they always get the good titles. Sentai I feel bad for tho. Aniplex and VIZ are back at it again with there recent releases but Sentai needs a big game changer right now.
