Yeah! That happens a lot too! I'm also one of those who can't walk in a straight line and it's pretty hard to hear an approaching bike. Not to blow my own horn, I always use the bell on my bike when approaching someone from behind. And when in the rare occassion I drive a car, some cyclists drive on the roads, often in places where there's barely any room to pass them, and when I do, they shake their fist at me. What am I supposed to do? The car's faster than you! Use the bike lanes! |

In the Japanese it wasn't actually "peenarello" it was more like "perorerllo" which is probably another joke about oral sex...
Of course, his actual bike frame said "Pinarello" on it, like it's supposed to. I saw a Serow like Onsa's last night... lol |

Series' finale:
I have to admit, this episode was strange and funny for the finale.. A world of "what ifs"? Yup. I think I got the message there especially about Hane. In the meantime, I'm glad to see all the girls getting some highlight. Going to miss this show every Monday for sure. (and their bikes!!!) Good show overall. |

Wait, wait, wait - Biker Jesus is going to take our motorcycles away soon?? Whyyyyy, Japanese Biker Jesus?!? Does he prefer seeing naked women draped over bicycles instead?
I had a feeling we'd see Baita again before this was over. Nice to see the tip o' the hat to the Honda story. I really had a great time with this series. Some of the fan service I could've done without, and it would've been nice if the guys had faces, but if they choose to do more, I'll be along for the ride. |

This episode delivered a pretty unusual palette of fan service. Rin in the eye-catch. Nice idea but why did they have to distort her so much? Biker-Jesus' magazine. You don't often get high school girls in anime so uninhibitedly examining and narrating porn (you can see her pubic hair!). You would think dressing the girls in a very-short-skirt school uniform on bikes would generate lots of panty shots. But they never did that except for one very small moment in the opening credits. They certainly didn't refrain because they were too shy to do it. And Hane comes off as a bit over the edge the way she has chunni-like conversations with not only bikes but bike parts. No doubt as they intended. Well it was a fun series. I don't think we really need another season but I'll watch it if they do one. |

Episode 12 (finale)
Anime biker Jesus buying motorcycle porn. I think it was kind of a wink that the series that it uses fanservice to particularly appeal to a certain demographic.... maybe a little broader than just fans of motorcycles. There were other winks too in the final segment in the show saying that it really could argue that motorcycles are not exactly the most efficient ideas, and that the character types could be used to show interest in a different vehicle, but they do kind of have a place in the hearts of people. Also got a laugh at Hane's talking to motorcycles being somewhat disturbing, and Onsa called out on being a bit of a poser. Bakuon has been kind of surprisingly good. Maybe no amazing, it really is what it appears in terms of K-ON meets motorcycles with a touch of ecchi added in. There is a passion of motorcycles behind it, it takes the topic seriously, but also often plays itself out as not being too serious, that it can have fun with various of its culture, and parts of itself. A show that can laugh at itself, I would say that it is like that. And I would say it was a show that I could not be sure what beats it might take. I think that it had stronger meat early on when it did the traveling across Japan thing, but I don't think the series actually outstayed its welcome. Maybe not enough time to really give Chisame an expanded role like the rest of the main cast. I think that I will give it a rating of Good (7/10). I do think even more could work with this series, if it managed to track enough interest that is. |

It's not porn, per se. There are a lot of biker magazines with nudity... Yes, it's creepy.

A lot are starting to remove it. Still, I remember with fondness that I used to sell my dads BSH magazines after he read them to lads at school thanks to the spreads in the middle. At least there was an element of tastefulness to it in a similar vein to Playboy. Porn today is too filthy and over the top to really get into. |

I just did the bridge thing that Hane barely passed in her exam.
Holy crap it's hard... Staying on it isn't hard, it's going slow enough to complete it in at least 10 seconds without falling off. |
