why you do this to me...

Not only DVD only but sub only too, I don't really feel like supporting this half-assed release anymore. I mean is it at least uncensored or did they leave the shiny beams of holy censorship light in there too to be extra cheap? Rolling Eyes

I'm disappointed that Ergo Proxy isn't getting an LE, but I'll just have to keep my Geneon singles and art box then. Definitely getting Snow White with the Red Hair as well.

...Y'know, this Kenshin live-action stuff is cool and all, but when are we getting the series proper?

Yeah, I wish Ergo Proxy was getting a limited edition for it's first ever BD release here.

Also surprised Ninja Slayer isn't getting one, thought it would.

Nothing for me on the December slate so far. Oh well more $$ for the eventual Rightstuf Holiday Sale.

Or you could track down one of the previous Media Blasters DVD releases. Pretty sure Funimation doesn't have the series, unless I missed an article and they haven't been added as licenser yet.

Only Show by Rock for me. Though I may finally pick up the Shana Movie and OVA's now that they are coming out as SAVE. Their original prices were just too steep for such little content.

May pick up the AoT movies at some point as well. Watched both on my last flight to CA and enjoyed the campy fun. Now if only Funi would grab the AssClass movies, I'd be happy happy.

Shana 3's finally getting released... as a complete set... in a SAVE version. Just like season 2, they had me at complete set. But since I waited this long, I'll wait until, ah, first time I wrote 2017.

Funimation: Now. Or Later. Probably Later.

By 2017, I fully expect Funimation releases to be MSRP + 30%. There used to be unannounced Amazon sales during the summer, new releases were sold at 40% off or so, unicorns would dance in dew laden glades...

Ok, I may be wrong about that last one but you get the picture.

For years, I've said that once Shana 3 and S were released in S.A.V.E. form, I'd spring for the entire series. Well, I just put in an order for 1-3 + S + the movie on Rightstuf, so good going, Funimation.

The Collector's Edition release of Escaflowne is starting to sell out wholesale. It's not available to purchase on Funi's site anymore, RightStuf has the page up but it can't be purchased, it is currently sold-out on Amazon.com, and RACS recently bumped their price up from $134.98 to $178.98. If anyone was considering on buying it that hasn't yet, you might want to pick it up.

(This list was created by WTK) Available places to order:
- Amazon.ca: CDN$ 149.99
- RACS: $178.98
- Barnes and Noble: $179.99
- Best Buy: $149.99
- CD Universe: $159.65
- Deep Discount: $150.28
- DVD Planet: $144.84

^Looks like Funi underestimated the long time fan and collector mentality demand for such an "old" title again? Or they just have to play it safe. Can't fault that. Still glad they're even releasing it for newer fans (Gawd how I wish I was a newer fan).

And so much for waiting for a review of any vid quality issues. Not willing to pay the increased price from RACS, and definitely not the increased amount a reseller will be wanting to take advantage of, so it looks like the chances of obtaining the Funi Collector's Edition at a reasonable expensive price (as opposed to a stupid expensive price) are getting slimmer by the day. At least I have the Zone B UK edition on pre-order.

The CE for Haruhi seems like it might be in a similar position to the CE of Escaflowne. Seems to be backordered in various places and RS has this on their page:
Quote:
There's limited quantity of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Ultimate Collector's Edition Blu-ray available at this price. Order now before they're gone!

I wanted to wait for a proper Funi sale at RS before ordering this, but now I'm not sure if it will be waiting for me.

I didn't even consider the domestic release (especially with the KS fiasco) and went straight for the UK release.
