Just made a fix that should, hopefully, as of now, stop these redirects.

I'm actually using Firefox. I haven't seen these on Chrome either. Is this a Windows-only issue? |

This hasn't happened to me yet, but good job on ANN looking out for us.

So, it didn't work after all...
I'm attempting another fix, let's see if it works this time. |

^It may be working for some people. This happened to me multiple time per day last week, but hasn't happened since that fix.

Is this the type that installs malware onto other people's computers? Those would be VERY troublesome to remove. |

I've never had this problem, but I'm glad it's being addressed. Thanks ANN!

I guess I've been lucky. Haven't had this happen, yet.

I can't believe this is happening in a place like ANN.

I haven't seen any of these redirects, but I use NoScript. I don't purposely block ads, but if they depend on scripting to display, they won't. That also means if they do something undesirable, that also won't work, which is what I'm really going for.
Malvertising has happened to companies far larger and more well known than ANN. For example: http://arstechnica.com/security/2016/03/big-name-sites-hit-by-rash-of-malicious-ads-spreading-crypto-ransomware/ |

I wonder if this is just me, but now whenever I refresh this site it just crashes my entire browser. I think it's the ads because it's only this one website I'm having trouble eith and it's a shame because I love this site. Hopefully I can fix it...

Have you tried an ad blocker and then refreshed this site? That should tell you if it's the ads that's causing your browser to crash. |

Thanks for everyone who responded to my post. I've gotten a lot more careful about where I go and what I do. I haven't seen this sort of thing personally and I hope I don't encounter stuff like this. Good going,ANN with this fake browser thing and I mean that as a compliment. I hope this doesn't make a return.
