Wow that's so cool...why also NOT dub Pokemon Sun and Moon?

That's great news.

Now let's hope that the Monster Hunter Stories 3DS game gets a North American release date soon.

probably because the Pokemon company is quite capable of doing that themselves

I'm guessing popularity doesn't matter that much but this will last almost a year. Is it wise to commit to a broadcast dub of it?

I probably won't watch it but wouldn't it be better to just dub a larger chunk and release like a cour of it at once like during next winter season since its simulcast will still be going on then? It seems like a lot of work to dub a show that will last 48 weeks, idk.

I'm glad Monster Hunter Stories Ride On is getting a simuldub as well! I was thinking that the series' 48 episode length would make it too expensive to do a simuldub. Now this makes my FUNimationNOW subscription even more worth it! Very Happy

Exactly. Even if FUNimation were to dub Sun & Moon, they would be forced by the Pokemon Company to use the localized names for the characters.

Now the question is whether they'll use the English localization names for all the monsters and items. Personally, I hope they do, if only for consistency's sake.

The question is, however, for how long. There aren't many things dubbed in New York these days and some VAs already moved from NY. If things will continue like this in NY, will there still be someone in there to voice in Pokémon (and Yu-Gi-Oh, for that matter)? True, they may move the dub to either Texas or LA, but can you imagine the ruckus if they'll change the voices again?
Though, if Funimation did uncut and unedited (except English names, which would, most likely, be inevitable) dub of Pokémon, I am all for it Laughing

They might well just use the original Japanese character names then.

Nope they need to use the english names for consistency sake and since most English speaking people will be playing the game with the localized names

I never expected this show to have an English version. Surprised MHS will make a nice watch for the spring. Smile

With it being that long, Brittney, her daughter, and husband might as well move to the Dallas area since it would be pointless for her to drive back/forth for almost a year.

Yay, that's great! Anything to help the chances of the game inevitably coming over. ^u^

OK, so first episode is already out and man, what's with this way too raspy voices of boys that made them older then they are supposed to be? Why does English dubs tend to do that way too often? True, it still wasn't on par with Kamui's chain-smoker-at-his-last-stages voice in Vanguard dub, but still, what's the point of this? Especially since Funimation can do boys voices right, if they want, as Puzzle & Dragons showed us (though there, way too squeaky voices for girls, especially Hal and Garnet, bothered me even more). Otherwise, it was great dub, but this really bothered me.
