TRSI needs to secure a publisher's agreement before putting items on sale, so presumably Discotek/Eastern Star is not interested in having its products listed in any kind of significant way. Now, to be far, they offer some of the lowest prices for regular releases out there (not counting things like Funi's S.A.V.E. and the relatively new Sentai equivalent).

Today seems to be the last day of the Right Stuf holiday sale. I just noticed that on their web site.
If you want anything you need to place the order by midnight, their time.

I think that I will pass.
There are some things that interest me and have decent prices, but unlike previous years there is nothing that makes me think that I will be sorry if I do not get it now.

This will be the first time in many years that I have not placed at least one order for the TRSI holiday sale.

I don't think I have ever bought stuff in any of the year end sales. I usually buy everything that looks interesting when it comes out. I tend to find sales depressing. Usually the only time I buy back stock is when someone's enthusiasm makes me think I missed something. Usually that is a mistake. I do sometimes shop sales for more compact packaging but I don't think I've ever used the Christmas sales for that.

This year I was tempted to replace my NISA bulky Premium editions for standard editions but I gave up on that. It would have been pricey even at sale prices and half of some shows are not available in standard editions.

Once more I'll pass.

I'm not sure I'd call Right Stuff's post Holiday "Best of" Sale by that name. It's more of a "On Second Thought" sale. All previous Mega Deals on sale again for this week only. (I thought it was odd to end the sale yesterday- didn't mesh with last years "Dec. 27" end date).

Barnes & Nobles has buy 2 get 1 free on manga, both in stores and online, until January 16th. So yeah, you've got a good while to stock up! And if you have a membership, you still get 10% off (it takes 10% off each book, then makes one free)

Thank you for posting that.
I usually miss the B&N manga sales because I do not visit the store or web site often enough.

I know that there are at least a few things that I can buy. Now I need to decide if there might be enough to make the membership a good investment.

Thanks again!

A Heads up. Amazon has been having sale prices on several anime. Besides several Ghibli movies being on sale for $12.99 as mentioned in another thread, there are several titles in the Ghost in the Shell franchise on sale. Some examples:

Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence BD+DVD+UV combo $19.99 Pre-order
Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie BD+DVD+UV $16.99
GITS 25th Anniversary $6.99
Ghost in the Shell Arise: Borders 1 & 2 Combo $17.99

The latest and something that just {insert expletive here} kills me is Knights of Sidonia Season 2 Limited ed. $40.29. Also Knights of Sidonia Season 1 Limited ed $39.77 is on sale. I don't know what's up with Sentai they had season 2 on sale over xmas a day after it was released and now its on sale again. I pre-ordered both so of course I payed more and am a little salty about it, but they didn't even wait to see if it sold before putting it on sale. WTF?

There's also Attack on Titan part2 Limited ed. with box $53.21. I don't know where they dug this up, but the box was at first limited to the Collector's edition and a later smaller run of Part 2 LE. So if you missed out then this might be your chance to pick it up with the box.

Blood Blockade Battlefront LE and Prison School LE are both on sale running about $43 each.

Target has a mix&match B2G1 free sale right now.

It includes pre-orders, so you could get both seasons of GitS: SAC with, say, newly released Wolf's Rain, for a great price. As always, the free-to-get Redcard will get you an additional 5% and free shipping.

Thanks go to "Samus Aran" at blu-ray.com.

Thanks for that, I would have never thought to check target. Seems they have a half decent selection of manga and LNs that are also eligible.

The Sentai Store is having a 50% OFF Anime Sale, looks like it covers most of their catalog.

It has come to my attention that Target, of all places, is having a pretty good sale on their website. It's 20% additional off most books, and even with tax, you're still looking at 40+% off MSRP on a lot of things. Free shipping at $25 too. And I do believe this includes pre-orders (my friend pre-ordered a manga, at least).

Also, they have a pretty impressive selection, I didn't except to find Netcomics stuff, but there it is!

This is through 3/4, so there's a little bit of time, at least.

Netcomics you say? I'll have to check that out because the prices on Amazon has been crazy for new releases for a few things I wanted from them. Paying $21.99 per volume just doesn't sit well with me for a standard release.
