Personally for me, they were damn close on selling me on Erased, but then Yen got the manga, so that will be cheaper and the manga came first, so I will stick with that instead.

^Erased is a perfect example of why me getting into legal streaming was a great idea. I watched it on Crunchyroll and, while I liked it overall, it really went downhill toward the end. In the past I might have bought it off the strength of the first few episodes and ended up kicking myself for paying big bucks for something that I would only watch once.

Release date on the re-release of Puella Magi Madoka Magica TV Box Set Blu-ray seems to have been pushed back from 8/23/2016 to 9/27/16 on Right Stuf's website.

http://www.rightstufanime.com/Puella-Magi-Madoka-Magica-TV-Box-Set-Blu-ray

Kind of annoying. Hopefully they haven't decided to cut back on what they were planning to release.

Anybody know if it is worth it to get the new Puella Magi Madoka Magica TV series set. Is it just a reprinted of what came before.

Only if you don't already have it. Its a paper box, not chipboard and not even double walled paper at that. No resealable polybag which at least GoS -recalled out summer- had. 2 clear cases with reversible art work instead of the 3 blue cases that the BD standard had. What they called a 4 page insert is really a single piece of glossy paper folded in half. On the back side is the episode names, front side is cover art that was found on 3rd standard BD, inside has a bunch of tiny images. On the paper box under languages they only list Japanese with English subs, but on disc it has the dub.

The Japanese release had 6 disc set that had 3 clear cases with reversible art, chip box, post cards, and I think it had audio commentary. The Australian release also had chip box.

If you hate blue cases like I do, you might be happy to have clear ones instead and only having 2 cases may save you a little of shelf space. Otherwise, you are hardly getting anything over the previous BD singles, basically a little extra paper.

So I'm way late on seeing those Erased solicitations, but...$180. For a 12-episode series. $15 per episode. Aniplex, feel free to bend over and literally **** your own face.

Anyone have any (or heard of any) experience with Aniplex USA's customer service? Thanks to the RS holiday sale I finally picked up one of their titles as it was a nearly reasonable price and the first disc in the set is bad. After I finish watching to make sure the rest is ok or not I'm going to contact them about replacing it, but if I'd have a better time kicking rocks then I'd just like a heads up on what I'm in for.
Thanks Smile

@ Convam - I haven't dealt with AoA customer service myself, but since you bought the title from TRSI, shouldn't you be contacting them about a replacement? Their customer service I do have experience with and I find them excellent.

@Convam you should try contacting RightStuf first. Some companies let the retailers handle any exchanges or replacements and some of them require customers to contact the publisher instead. RS can tell you if they will handle it or if you need to contact AoA. I had a bad disc last year from Sentai and RS sent me a replacement disc. It was pretty painless and relatively quick.

Yeah, they usually are pretty great, but I expect that the end result will be that I would need to exchange it, which means mailing it back at my expense (at least that's how it's been for any other issues I've had). Consider what it already cost, I'd rather leave that as a last resort.

That's pretty surprising to hear, but after seeing that RS fullfilled all of Sentai's holiday orders, I'm guessing they must of some kind of distribution partnership, which may be why they were able to do that. Still, good to know regardless, thanks Smile

@ Convam - I might be wrong, but I would be very surprised if getting a replacement disc would require you mailing back the defective one regardless of whom you end up dealing with.
