Her images can no longer be found with Google or Yahoo; MSN / Windows Live is the only search engine that is capable to search for her images.

And now there are dōjinshi about Miku being kidnapped by Evil Google then rescued by heroic Bill Gates... Laughing

Heroic Bill Gates? what a paradox, given the DRM tech in vista would make it so the image could be removed right from users computers

One day not too far off, there won't be a single actual woman left in Japan.

i wouldn't doubt if that actually happens...

Japan's population hasn't been growning for past several years with new birth rates sliding down further and further....

and growing senior population isn't helping Japanese economy any at all...

they need to build andriods who can bear children like in Armitage III....

Read William Gibson's Idoru (a must-read anyway for all Japanese pop culture fans/enthusiasts) and tell me that this article isn't scaring the pants off of you.

Oh, it's scaring the cr*p out of me alright. Sadly, at the same time I'm mesmerized by this. Same feeling I got from watching/reading Chobits waaay back, actually.

D:

I'm in love with her.

She's soooooo cute! She's prime cosplay material, and her digi-voice is totally awesome.

Miku singing the opening from Air.

Crazy cute version of "True My Heart" from some eroge.

Yea it's a "feature" in Windows Defender, and other hidden areas of vista. On top of that in the EULA MS reserves the right to take away your OS and even Hardware at will, vista users don't own what they paid for any more.

For more on this and other Electrotics related issues, check out www.eff.org

Bah! Did they learn nothing from Macross Plus?

and on that note:

article wrote:
and Sharon Apple of Macross Plus, had humans providing their voices in real life.

I believe that is incorrect.Sharon Apple wasn't simply a computer rendered voice and image, but an actual AI program. I can't recall exactly what purpose Myun (the human) served, but it was something to do with her AI. It had nothing to do with her literally providing her voice as is stated.

The operative phrase above is "in real life." In the fictional story, Sharon Apple becomes sentient and provides her own voice. In real life, a variety of human singers, including Mai Yamane and Akino Arai, provided her voice. The same is true for Eve of Megazone 23, whose voice was provided in real life by Kumi Miyasato and Saki Takaoka.

Heh, my first exposure to Miku was this Youtube clip of her singing various Famicom/NES classics.

Technology wise, I am very impressed.

But to be brutally honest Eve Tokimatsuri, Sharon Apple, and those girls from Key the Metal Idol, scared the shit out of me as concepts. Not so much from a technological standpoint, but from the way the fans fawned over them. Chilling stuff.
