The weapon looks good. But the armor is absolutely hideous, I mean it's seriously illogical in a battle against monsters. Can't they design armor that fully protects the wearer? I really wish Hiro Mashima never got his hands on monster hunter.

You clearly don't understand the reverse gender armor rules my friend. Here I will teach you all about it. For men the larger and bulkier the armor is the more you are protected. Specifically the shoulder pauldrons are your ultimate protective area so you need them to be as large as possible generally blocking any and all peripheral vision. Also works as well is large shields generally as large as your body. Any armor that makes you look as large and imposing as possible offers you the ultimate protection. For women the reverse is true the less cover you have over your body the more protected you are. Showing cleavage, midriff, thighs exposed, arms, etc... offers you more and more protection. The females ultimate armor would consist of nipple stickers, and small covering of the vaginal area and butt crack. Gauntlets and greaves are optional but offer no additional or negative protection. I am glad I was able to give you a lesson on the reverse gender armor rules.

You do realize that you have just described every armor Mashima has ever designed for Erza save like two right?

1. They do if you play a guy.
2. Monhun has always been like that. There are still some bulky armors for girls, but a lot show quite a bit of skin.

Because, Japan logic..they want the girls to look sexy and cute...and they don't think about what happens to them realistically (cuts and bruises on legs, and on the ass, or chest, stab wounds on the stomach, etc). And since Hiro Mashima designed this, don't expect anything from him when he already design his armors and clothes (ripped clothes, damaged clothes, etc) on his FT characters...

I find it appropriate that Brittney Karbowski is playing the lead in the simuldub of the anime since she also played FT's Wendy.

Of course they can. They just do not want to, and I do not want them to.
I like the armor as it is. I think that a lot of other people do too, which is why the artists keep doing it.
Still, with then number of games in existence I would think that there must be some with realistic armor.

I do not actually play the games, I just like the art for the characters and I do sometimes read the manga and watch the anime adaptations if there are any.
Does the skimpy armor make a difference in the game? Is the character more vulnerable to attack because she is not fully armored?

There are non-revealing armor sets for girls, but you almost never see anyone use them (part of this is because of armor skills rather than visuals).

There is no connection between skimpy armor and defense as that is determined by monster level. For example all High Rank 6 star monster armor will have the same defense whether you are in a glorified bikini or rock-platemail.

^Thank you, SilverTalon01, that was helpful and informative.

I really should try some video games but I already do not have time for all of the anime and manga and other entertainment that I like.
Also I do not have a console so I would be limited to PC games, on a relatively slow PC.

Then there is the old dogs and new tricks thing. Anime smile + sweatdrop
