Interesting that this is happening with the second season still upcoming. I guess he just told the whole story he wanted to tell. Which I suppose is a good thing in this industry.

I think the anime isn't based on the manga. It's a multimedia project. First they announced a light novel and shortly thereafter the manga and anime.
