Heads-up clarification, I am NOT talking about the 1995 version by Disney

But rather the 1994 version

It was directed by Toshi / Toshiyuki Hiruma who has an entry here person#24894

apparently according to http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1119154/ there was also someone named Takashi involved in directing it.

Apparently this also goes by the name "The Adventures of Pocahontas Indian Princess".

Not really. I think some Japanese studios did the in-between work on Batman: The Animated Series.

I think the rule is; if it wasn't animated in Japan for a Japanese audience, it does not qualify as "anime".

RWBY is not anime either; people love to write essays explaining otherwise but yeah, they're wrong because it's not.
