Then the more important question has to be : who is our villain Griffith based on?

Or...a better question: Who is Casca based on?

I am kinda scared when thinking those people are from real-life inspirations.

Based on school friends? Where did you hang out, the Upside Down?

That can't have ended well.

So one of his best friends sacrificed the others to hell, and then raped his girlfriend in front of him?

Well, that's something.

I'm hoping that he means the pre-Eclipse part. Otherwise, yikes.

Can we get his high school friends reaction to this? How do they feel being the inspiration for this? Does this kind of reveal he hated a lot of his friends in high school? Or at least the guy he based Griffth on.

I don't know whom Casca is based from, but Griffith is loosely based from fellow manga author Koji Mori (Suicide Island) whom Miura met during his student days.

Anyone following Berserk long enough either knows or could guess that was the case.

You guys reading too much into whole inspiration thing.
Authors can write horrific stuffs if he lets his imagination to go wild.

Miura talked about her in an interview for the Berserk Guidebook, there was no particular inspiration for her, he simply created her based on his own likes and preferences.

I think the better question is why he keeps going on hiatus. Writer's block? Difficult designs? Video games?

I think that's the best Japanese interview I've ever read. They're both hilarious, and there didn't seem to be any dancing around points to keep from saying anything offensive. Smile

We need more such interviews where Japanese peers interview each other so they're maybe not so guarded.
