Yep, gonna hug the enemies to happiness.

Ever since the Precure stopped using CQC (because it scares the kids now)...

I remember the season they beat the final boss with a hug. it was a terrible finale.

Its a lot easier to ommit the combat from a budget perspective, I just hope we can move away from 5minute unified group attacks every episode, which tend to just be huge beams of light. Fan of a franchise, but its starting to wear down on me, to the point I skipped last year's generation entirely.

Hey let’s be optimistic here...

Maybe they just hug _each other_ in order to transform/power up?

We had holding hands in the original, now hugging... 2020 “deep kiss precure” anyone? Then in 2025: “Pretty Cure Home Run” (its baseball themed you people sheesh!)

Yeah, since TOEI are cheap bastards (look at Digimon Tri), they keep trying to find new ways to cut the budget. First it was the awful CG in HappinessCharge and Princess now it's removing the cqc and having 2-4 minute stock footage attacks per episode. As a fan who's seen almost everything Precure related... it's really getting on my nerves.

Um... what was "awful" about the CG in HappinessCharge Precure? Are you talking about the dancing attacks? Because those were beautifully animated and, in my opinion, perfect examples of CG done well in anime.

It's been that way since Fresh Precure or even before that.

Which is kind of hilarious since there's been scenes where Yukari in Kira Kira was having an existential crisis and getting tortured by the enemy. And there's another scene where Akira faces a dilemma of either saving her sick sister or bunch of civilians.

Hmm...The logo reminds me of Mahou Tsukai's and Futari wa Precure's. Maybe they are finally bringing this series back to their roots?

Well that's a... bizarre name, but I'll remain optimistic. Later Precure seasons may not be anything particularly deep, but I still enjoy them.

If there's no punching and kicking, I'm sitting this one out, I also find that the fighting scares the girls to be very suspect, it's the BPO probably breathing on their shoulders, or PTA groups. Maybe it's time for someone in the industry to stand up against them.

They were. But they were still ugly. LOoked nothing like the character.

Yeah, but they used to only have ONE per episode.

Hugtto? Seriously? That's even stupider sounding than Happiness Charge! Then again, why do I care? I stopped giving a damn about Precure years ago. The obnoxious person who cares about social justice-esque fandom on Tumblr ruined it for me.

It's your problem for letting Tumblr of all places affect your opinion about something.

The font and colors of the logo are way too similar to Smile Precure's. But at least this anime will justify my need to hug people in a bizarre way...

If Jin Tanaka is still in charge of series composition, I might still give it a chance. But I must admit, I haven't been enjoying Precure as much now that there's less hand-to-hand combat.

Which earlier Precure series were particularly deep?
