Huh. This sounds like those Goosebumps stories I used to read where you had to turn to a certain page depending on how you wanna progress the story.

Considering how bad the sales of season 1 were, I doubt it

Didn't even notice there was already an anime of it. Musta been bad, then.

The anime adaptation wasn’t a breakout hit by any stretch, but it wasn’t a disaster either. And when the smartphone game released, the rumor was that if it did well enough that another season was a possibility. Maybe it’s unlikely, but with the manga ending soon, maybe they talk about it again.

Seems like a tactic to sell 2 volumes of the same book.

It'd be simpler if the final volume just included both endings in the same book and had a choice of which page # to turn to like good ol' choose-your-adventure novels.

But I guess certain people will only prefer one that will be canon to them.

he's basically having his manga into a visual novel ala the higurashi mangas.

its pretty clear than the friendship arc will be the good ending of the series where spoiler[ he and that girl finally become a real couple ] and the truth arc will be the bad ending where spoiler[ everyone dies!!! "Tomino style!!!"]

however its highly unlikely that this series will get a second season since its pretty clear that anime companies are more focused into shonen jump like titles or magical girl series ala CCS and less on over the top violent series like this!

The author used to be a game producer before becoming a mangaka - his aim is basically to reproduce the game experience of going different "routes" according to what choices you made during playing. It'll be a pretty interesting experiment IMO.
