Ah, interesting. And are people certain Harmony Gold is not going to do something to renew the rights or make it so nobody can have them? (I guess Tatsunoko has to agree to it too.)

Ah, Macross DYRL?, my very first anime that I saw 32 years ago. It was what got me started as an anime fan! I’ve seen it so many times that I don’t even need the subtitles any more!

If you think about quickly things have advanced in western licenses (r.i.p. other territories  ) it will hopefully come quicker than expected. I've never seen Macross, but I understand the Harmony Gold controversy. I backed their unsuccessful Kickstarter (for a new series ) to stay in the loop. They actually had a first tier specifically for haters to argue in the backer comments. Seems like sarcasm trumps quality, I guess.
