C'mon guys, I know why you dismiss it for either being CG or not to your own taste. However... pikkuhukka/palom: I see you two are persons of culture as well, lol. Including liking retro stuff, and so have I. Not only that, I've been into Hi-Score Girl way back, so...I'll still check it out, despite what the naysayers have spoken, lol. |

I'm hoping this won't be another Million Doll (i.e. a bad adaptation that effectively kills western interest in a manga I really liked).

It doesn’t look that bad, guys. It’s certainly not something that dissuades me from watching it. There’s far worse out there than this. It can still be a fun watch and besides, it’s not even out yet. Get on the complain train at least after watching an episode or two.

I have no problem with CGI, I've watched things like Kingdom xD. Haha, I think I recognized and played as 90% of the games the trailer showed, I really like the retro stuff. I love the concept of this manga and I'm still surprised that we are getting an adaptation using real licenses, nothing to use things like "Urban Fighter 2" or "Last Fight" instead of Street Fighter and Final Fight. spoiler[ 0:14 Street Fighter 2 0:16 Final Fight 0:18 Shadow Land 0:22 Ghost & Goblins 0:29 Genpei Tōma Den (but I haven't played this game) 0:37 Wonder Momo and... WHOA! I've been thinking of Hi-Score Girl every once in a while (including a couple of days ago), wondering whatever happened to it. I followed the news back in 2014 when SNK brought it down and since then have been too lazy to plug it into Google. Nice to see that it rebounded in 2015 - 16 and it's getting an anime, even if it is CGI trash -- although I would say in this instance it doesn't look all that bad. Also great to see Splatterhouse featured, one of my favorite games.
