I've heard bits and pieces of spoilers for this arc, but honestly none of them made much sense so I have no idea what it's actually about. Will be interesting to see how it actually plays out.

If they're adapting it entirety, it's safe to guess that there are parts that might be skipped. Then again, this arc was full of world building

I read a translation of the arc's early volumes, pretty much enjoyed it, yet also failed to make sense of it in retrospect. The beginning of the arc was awesome though.

I hate SAO but this arc is actually one of the better arcs even though it actually makes no bloody sense in context...

Yes, the blond is a guy. Eugeo is his name, and he is basically Kirito's wingman for majority of the arc. And is almost as important as Kirito himself. No, they don't have a romantic relationship, yes people will still try to ship them anyway.

Is it just me, or do the character designs in this promo look pretty rough and unfinished? I know the show isn't coming out until November, but still...

This arc and Mother's Rosario are THE Sword Art Online I've expected when I started reading the series. It doesn't get any better than that, it has lots of qualities and few flaws.
Hopefully they don't rush this, because they very much could. It's a slow burner, and sometimes the pacing is a bit off with too much exposition at once at the beginning, but it's really good stuff overall.

I've come to dislike SAO and everything it stands for(Light novel adaptations, A-1 Pictures, low writing standards). The one thing I know I can enjoy, however, is being able to watch critics burn it at the stake and add more material for SAO Abridged to make fun of.

I never realized how incredibly similar Eugo looks to Kirito until this. In that promotional art he straight up looks like a repaint to me. (as Richie is to Ash in Pokemon  ) This very well could have plot significance that I’m not aware of yet and I don’t necessarily mean it as a criticism, anyway. All I’ve seen of him before this was on the covers of the novels I’ve collected, as I wanted to wait until I had them all before starting Alicization.
