It wasn't that i'm not hyped. It's that the poll only had 5 choices in a season where i'd have selected 10 things.
Inevitably somethings had to be cut, sadly this was one of them.

I'm actually surprised Persona 5 didn't crack the top 5. As big as the game was I thought more people that hadn't played would want to catch the anime.

So other than Golden Kamuy all the top shows are sequels or remakes? Is that the future? If so, I'll be rather disappointed.

ANN doesn’t represent the entirety of the anime community. It’s just one slice of the pie. There’s also the chance that a sequel/remake can actually be beneficial, rather than negative in the way that you’re implying for some reason. There will always exist anime that are not sequels of something to co-exist with shows that are. It’s also just an anticipation list, not an absolute measure of quality.

Actually most of the most anticipated shows every season tends to be sequels, from the simple facts that you generally know what to expect from a sequel and that they already have an audience.

I don't see that as a problem but if you include adaptations and spinoffs than in terms of a completely original work the only one on that list would be Hisone to Masotan. While I sometimes like original shows simply because no one knows where the story is going at least 90% of them are forgettable. Also even when an original work has a good story that is no guarantee that it will make a profit.
